About PAIRFS
Driven by a passion for sport, Pierre created PAIRFS, a company dedicated to innovation in sports. Convinced that the pleasure of sport is all the greater when the athlete is not limited by their physical abilities, they created PAIRFS to provide demanding athletes with the tools they currently lack to train better and progress more quickly.
A Deep Technology Company
Making currently complex and expensive devices simple and accessible is clearly not easy. To achieve this, PAIRFS is developing a new gas sensor technology specifically tailored to this problem. PAIRFS draws on over 20 years of experience in technology, innovation, and the gas sensor industry.
A Nature Friendly Company
PAIRFS products are designed with respect for nature and its landscapes. PAIRFS’s philosophy of making breath analysis devices simple and accessible has direct impacts on sustainable development:
- No consumables or maintenance: PAIRFS devices are designed to be simple and, in particular, without consumables. The breathing tubes are designed to be easily disassembled, washable and sterilized (in a dishwasher, for example).
- Lifespan and Repairability: PAIRFS devices use expensive sensors that have a very long lifespan. However, there are limiting factors for lifespan: the battery. The devices are therefore designed to be easily disassembled and repairable to increase their lifespan.
Pierre JALLON (CEO)
Pierre enjoys cycling and mountain biking. He participates in events such as the Ultra Raid de la Meije, the Alps Epic, the Marmotte, the Étape du Tour, and more. Pierre is also a knight of the Brotherhood of the 7 Majors and completed the course in 21 hours.
Before founding PAIRFS, Pierre worked for over 20 years in Grenoble’s technology ecosystem. He was head of the innovative medical devices laboratory at CEA LETI between 2014 and 2019 and CTO (Chief Technology and Innovation Officer) at eLichens, a startup developing innovative gas sensors for the environment, between 2019 and 2024.
Pierre has filed more than 30 patents and has been an expert in data analysis for the CEA LETI scientific contingent. Pierre is a former student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan.
Julien MOTTIN (CPO)
Julien brings a deep passion for the outdoors and nearly two decades of experience at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world application. A dedicated mountain sports enthusiast, he spends much of his time trail running, hiking, and ski touring—activities that reflect his love for endurance, exploration, and challenge. In 2023, he completed the Paris Marathon and continues to seek out meaningful personal goals.
Before co-founding the company, Julien built his career in the tech industry, where he specialized in bridging research and product innovation. He spent seven years at CEA-LETI, focusing on sensor fusion and hardware/software integration to bring advanced technologies into industrial settings. He then joined Prophesee, a pioneer in event-based vision, where he led the Mobile Business Unit as VP and General Manager, driving innovation in the mobile imaging space.
An engineer by training and a graduate of École Centrale de Paris, Julien is known for his ability to connect deep tech with tangible impact. Today, he is driven by a desire to build projects that foster human connection, create positive societal value, and support sustainable development.
