Questions About ZoneX ?

To use ZoneX you need:

  • The ZoneX device. It comes with everything you need to measure your breathing capacity: masks, washable tube, etc.
  • An ergometer (connected bike) or a treadmill depending on the practice you want to test. This device must work in BLE
  • From a heart rate measuring headband.
  • From a PC or a MAC

PAIRFS’s software takes care of everything. It connects to the various devices, controls the test protocol via the connected bike or treadmill, records all data, and allows you to easily find your thresholds.

ZoneX comes with tools to help you find thresholds:

  • Display of lines and colors to facilitate data analysis
  • Automatic detection of ventilation thresholds from data
  • If threshold 1 is difficult to find, ZoneX has an advanced threshold mode to help you identify and find it

To use ZoneX, there’s a purchase cost and a cost per test. You must purchase tests in advance to use the device. If you perform more than 20 tests, you’ll see a positive return on investment with ZoneX. The cost then depends on the number of tests performed. 

The price of ZoneX is based on the price of threshold tests using blood lactate measuring devices (€120). ZoneX provides the same information for athletes, but with respiratory measurement and without blood sampling. 

ZoneX uses several sensors to detect ventilatory thresholds:

  • A sensor sensitive to exhaled volume. PAIRFS relies on a mass flow sensor to perform this measurement because it is currently the most accurate technology for this purpose . [  Exhaled volume measurement sensor technologies are compared in this article. ] 
  • A CO2 sensor. This sensor is an original sensor developed and patented by PAIRFS . It has been adapted to the measurement of exhaled air allowing a simple and low cost system without loss of reliability in the measurement. 

PAIRFS uses automatic analysis algorithms of both pieces of information to accurately detect thresholds.

No, ZoneX does not require maintenance and there are no consumables. The tube through which the person breathes is easily disassembled and can be cleaned and sterilized, for example, in a dishwasher and as recommended in the NF 26782 standard.

ZoneX also comes with a 1-year warranty. If the number of annual tests exceeds 100, this warranty is automatically renewed.
