Michael Lecuivre
Triathlon coach

Who am I?

I'm Michael, a triathlon coach specializing in long-distance performance, based in Bourg-en-Bresse, between Lyon and Geneva. With over 20 years of experience in distance training, I have already helped more than 300 athletes reach the finish line of an Ironman—including age group winners and World Championship qualifiers.

I work daily with TrainingPeaks, proven protocols, and a scientific approach to training.

My goal: to help athletes progress faster and smarter, without wasting time or energy.

Why ZoneX?

Because it is currently one of the most reliable methods for defining your training zones, particularly your SV1/VT1 and SV2/VT2, in a completely personalized way.
We're no longer talking about estimates based on approximate field tests: ZoneX measures your gas exchange in real time, which allows us to precisely identify the intensities at which your body switches from one energy system to another.
The result: personalized, verified zones that can be used immediately.
You stop “guessing.” You enter into ultra-targeted training.

How does the device work?

The ZoneX test is carried out directly with me, on a home trainer or treadmill, depending on your goal.
The device analyzes your breathing via a lightweight mask and a connected sensor.

During the test, I supervise the entire process:

  • I ensure that the equipment is properly calibrated,

  • I analyze the data in real time,

  • I adjust the intensity of the effort,

  • and I explain what each change in breathing reveals about your physiology.

In less than an hour, you get a complete map of your metabolism.

How do I integrate this data into your training?

Based on the ZoneX results, I redefine your cycling and running training zones, then integrate them directly into TrainingPeaks.

Your sessions become cleaner, easier to understand, and above all, more effective.

  • You know exactly:

  • when you are in real fundamental endurance,

  • where to work on your tempo,

  • how to structure your threshold or VO2 sessions,

  • and how to optimize your effort management during races.

What are the concrete benefits for you?

The athletes I have tested and monitored with ZoneX have observed:

  • faster progress in aerobic endurance,

  • better tolerance to volume,

  • a reduction in “invisible” fatigue,

  • better calibrated and better absorbed sessions,

  • a huge gain in confidence in their training,

  • and improving performance... while avoiding the “gray areas” that cause stagnation.
