How do I connect my Garmin heart rate monitor (new model, HRM200 and HRM600)?

What's the problem with Garmin heart rate monitors?

The new Garmin heart rate monitors have a secure connection. Secure mode is indicated by a green light flashing twice every 5 seconds. You must exit this secure mode and switch to open mode to connect your heart rate monitor to the PAIRFS software or app.

The heart rate monitor is connected but I have no data (symptoms).

When you tried to connect your heart rate monitor, it appeared in the "Heart Rate" line and you successfully connected it. The connected button is greyed out.

The red heart pictogram appeared but the heart rate remains at 0.

Your heart rate monitor flashes green twice every 5 seconds.

How do I connect the Garmin?

The complete procedure is as follows:

  1. Activate the heart rate monitor by pressing it.

  2. If the flashing is double: press the button twice quickly to switch to open mode. The belt flashes green (3 times) every 5 seconds.

  3. Finally, press and hold the button for 4 seconds to activate pairing mode. The green light should then turn orange for the HRM200 and purple for the HRM600. The belt will be visible for 5 minutes.

Warning: Open mode changes the belt name. PAIRFS will see it under a different name.

The heart rate monitor is connected when a red heart-shaped pictogram and your live heart rate appear on the PAIRFS software.
